How do designers think? What drives their constant enquiry and urge to keep creating something new? And what can we learn from this? How might it help to solve everyday problems for everyday people?
Object and Learning
Object’s plan for the Australian Design Centre in 2015 is to create a learning centre that will enable audiences to experience ideas through the design process, encouraging them to use that process in their own lives.
CUSP: Designing into the Next Decade demonstrates this philosophy by focussing on the visions and processes of the 12 designers, working in different and sometimes unexpected fields of design. CUSP provides participatory experiences for audiences through an exhibition and a series of public programs that includes learning workshops.
The workshops offer opportunities for students and teachers to become immersed in the world of design—as a way of dealing the complexity of the world now and in the future.
Design and design thinking are playing a central role in the new national curriculum and are becoming increasingly important in providing a framework for creative thinking and innovation.
